Day after XF11 impact

In December 1997 astronomers of the Spacewatch Program forecast  the transit of  asteroid XF11 at a distance of only 48,000 km from the Earth and they even supposed a collision with the planet. It would have been a terrible event involving the release of millions megatons, equal to the  explosion of a nuclear bomb of 10,000 million tons of trinitrotoluene (Hiroshima bomb: 12,500 tons).

Black Sun

The last day of all times might have an origin and an astronomic explanation. This is what Giordano Bruno, an Italian innovative but also troublesome theologian, supposes. He lived in the 16th century and was burnt at the stake because his thesis were considered heretical by the Inquisition of the Roman Church. In his prophecies Giordano Bruno links the end of the world to the diffusion of travels in the cosmos and to the moment when a “Black Sun” will swallow up the Sun, the Moon and all the other planets of the solar system.

Solar Tzunami

The huge eruptions that can raise world-high waves of burning plasma have been called “solar tsunami” by the Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory. The latest peak of explosions took place in 2001 and since the event occurs every 11 years, the awakening of the activity is expected in 2012 with consequent geo-magnetic storms of extremely strong power.
