An apocalyptic event

More than 500 legends relate about the Flood, an apocalyptic event recurring in many cultures. There is the biblical tale of Noah’s Ark, the Hindus’ Puranic story of Manu, Deucalione’s in the Greek mithology, Utnapishtim in Gilgamesh epos… From 10,000 to 5,000 b.C. the Earth was certainly ravaged by frightening cataclysms and at least three floods of catastrophic proportions seem to have followed one another.

Two hundred underground shelters meant for those who want to outlive 21st December 2012 have been built in the Mojave desert, a huge extension limited by the Tehachapi mountains, about 100 miles North East of Los Angeles (California). Hollowed out in the bowels of the earth (at an altitude ranging from 900 to 1,800 metres above sea level) and available from 2010, the bunkers have great water supplies, food, medicines and clothes to guarantee at least a twelve months’ survival and include rooms for fitness, entertainment, comfort and refreshment as well.
